Hermanus Smit (auch: Harmanus und Smittcite-ref-1[1]) war ein niederländischer Uhrmacher, der in der Mitte des 17. Jahrhunderts in Amsterdam hochwertige Uhren schuf, darunter vor allem Standuhrencite-ref-collectie-amsterdam-2-0[2] und Taschenuhren.cite-ref-3[3] Tätig war er von etwa 1740 bis 1760.cite-ref-collectie-amsterdam-2-1[2] Seine Standuhren zeichnen sich durch besonders prächtig dekorierte Zifferblätter und Gehäuse aus. Eine Reihe seiner Werke befindet sich in der Sammlung des städtischen Amsterdam Museums.cite-ref-collectie-amsterdam-2-2[2]
